The Quest for a Trainee

Written by ScotterPop at 18:55 26/8-2014

It's always a challenge. The easy way is to wait for a nice one to show up on the forums, then pay a silly amount for them. The hard way is to scout. You will waste a lot of money before you find a good one. The really hard way is to wait for one to show up in your Talents feature.

We've had luck in each of those areas, but lately the well has gone dry. Our scouting budget is near it's end, and the best we've found are these two:

  Vladislav Junek
  CL: Good
  DH: Small
  HL: Average
  SP: Average
  FR: Average
  CB: Good
  TT: None
  TQ: None

  Nektarios Theofanis
  CL: Small
  DH: None
  HL: Average
  SP: Very good
  FR: None
  CB: Small
  TT: Small
  TQ: Small

It is possible we will train the greek for a sprint leadout, but unlikely. He could never really be a good captain for higher divisions, even with a top max. 89/49/59 just doesn't do it for a sprinter. Even if his HL maxed on 69, he'd still be second-rate.

If you have interest in either of these riders, they are yours for a starting offer of 38k (as I will DP farm them otherwise).

Of course, if you have a fine talent you want to see trained for your country...let me know. I have the money to train them fast, so you'll soon see if your national team benefits from your scouting!

I agree SV. I have a sprinting team. Only ever had 1 nice talented climber. He had VG in cl and hl, the rest small or none. I sold him.

Super Velo at 04:54 27/8-2014
I've never had anything near 200 points in any discipline. The best I ever had was a good on HL and a good on CB. I pulled that guy and sold him for 40k. Some months I just forget about it and end up stumbling on it a couple of weeks late and I still get the most crappy talents around. It's a joke. lol

AnnoDomini at 23:37 26/8-2014
  Hi
Please check the thread 'selling 2 out of 3 talents' on the transfer forum. Maybe you find them interesting...

  Good enough?

PEKAC B at 22:35 26/8-2014
For me, the only decent one was Racko many seasons ago. From that point of time, I only sold a VG 180+ climber with AV in SP, FR and TQ and a declined one 200+ 24yo hill sprinter. So I´m also waitting for my incredible talent who has to come.

Cremtec at 22:31 26/8-2014
I've never pulled a talent even close to 200+... Still hoping to have an incr one one day... (Keep on dreaming...)

PEKAC B at 22:16 26/8-2014
I scouted Junek as well and wasted my free scout from IBIAM on him... Could not resist when I saw a young Czech who was born as hiller.

ScotterPop at 20:15 26/8-2014
It's true, SuperV. Most of the Talents are crap. I have had a pair of 200+ talents out of it though...so they're not ALL crap.

Super Velo at 19:56 26/8-2014
Actually, 99% of my talent pulls come out with maybe an avg someplace and a few smalls with the rest none. Have even had some with a few smalls and the rest none. If you could pull a talent every day or maybe once a week it wouldn't be too bad. But waiting a month is extremely frustrating just to get the same crap every time. lol.

Super Velo at 19:52 26/8-2014
I would say that the "waiting for one to show up in your talents feature", is more than just being "really hard". I would say that it's near impossible. From when this began I have never had any better then a rider with (1) Good and maybe (2) avg with the rest being none or small. That talent feature is actuallity a joke.
